The D2 Visa is destined to those who wish to relocate to Portugal and start a company (so called

“entrepreneurial immigrants”) or that qualify as independent workers. In order to obtain the D2 Visa as an entrepreneurial immigrant, the key-factor is to be able to proof investment made in Portuguese territory. The most common way to provide evidence of that investment is, through the launching of a company. We strongly advise that its share capital should be of no less than € 5,000.00 (five thousand euros).

This amount should be transferred to the company bank account.

A well-structured business plan will also need to be provided, and it should demonstrate not only the financial planning for the activity of the company, but also its relevancy and, basically, explain why Portugal should be interested in that company’s activity and investment.

The D7 visa is addressed to retired foreign citizens and foreign citizens living on income from movable and immovable property, intellectual property, or financial applications called passive income earners.

Residency of initial 2 years then renewal for another 3 years then citizenship.

Once the residence visa is issued, the immediate family members are also eligible to join the Portugal residency permit program under the “family reunification” regulations.

Passive Income D7 Visa permits are issued as credit-card-type sized ID cards (similar to those of the Golden Visa and are enrolled in the Schengen Space central system, thereby entitling the holder to enter all Schengen Space adherent European countries.
